Algiers




Modern Algiers is one of the biggest and most developed countries of Africa.On the North it is washed by the Mediterranean sea. On the East it boarders with Tunisia and Libya; on the South - with Niger, Mali and Mauritania; on the West - with Morocco. Territory of the country is more than 2 thousand sq. km. The official language is Arabic.
The territory of the country takes central part of the mountain system Atlas and the Sahara desert. In different regions of the country the climate differs. The climate of the North Algiers is subtropical, Mediterranean. Average temperature of January is 5-12 °C, July - 25°C.
Fauna in the North is typical for the Mediterranean area: dense bushes and small trees, pine groves. In the desert area the fauna is very poor.
The population counts about 27 million people among whom there are Algerians, descendants of ancient Arabians and Berbers. The main religion is Islam. The capital of the country - ancient city Algiers.
