Tanzania ![]() Tanzania is a state in the Eastern Africa and occupies 945,1 thousand sq.km. From the East it's washed by the Atlantic ocean. Official languages - Swahili, English. The highest top of the country and the whole Africa is the extinct Vulcan Kilimandjaro (5895 m.) The climate is mostly equatorial. The average temperature of January 20-24°C, July - 16-22°C. It rains in March-May and October-December. On the territory of the country there are light tropical forests and different types of savannas. The animal world of Tanzania is very rich. In savannas there are elephants, zebras, giraffes, black rhinoceros, buffaloes, lions, many species of monkeys and many birds. The population of the country counts 26,5 million people and varies ethnically. The majority of inhabitants support traditional religions: totemism, cult of ancestors and so on.
