Tunisia


Tunisia is a state in the North Africa. To the South it borders Libya, to the West - with Algiers. In the North and the East it is washed by the Mediterranean sea. The country occupies 163610 sq.km. The state language is Arabic.

The only big river of the country is Madjarda. Sahara occupies About 40% of the territory of Tunisia. In the North of Tunisia the climate is soft, mediterranean; in the South - hot and dry. The fauna is represented by wild boar, gazelle, hare, different species of reptiles.

The population of the country counts 9380400 people, mostly Arabians. Islam is a state religion. Today Tunisia is the most politically steady state of the Arabic West with the rather high level of the politic culture. Monetary unit - Tunisian Dinar. The country is a member of OUN, League of the Arabic States, Organization of the African Unit. The capital is Tunis.
